Child, Youth, & Family Support Specialist
I’m Sarah VanBuschbach, and I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strengths. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from UBC Okanagan and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. With over 16 years of experience in the social services field, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside children, youth, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings.
My experience includes working in daycares, as a behaviour interventionist, and as a social worker. I also completed an 8-month practicum with Child and Youth Mental Health, which deepened my commitment to supporting young people through complex emotional and behavioural challenges.
I was once called a “Tutor for your feelings” by a client I worked with, and I felt that was the highest compliment and brilliantly encapsulates my approach as a counsellor.
I specialize in kids ages 3-18, ADHD, Autism, Depression, Behavioral issues, Addiction, & the Effects of Separation and Divorce.
Our highest priority is that our clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
We believe the best method to assist the path to wellness with our clients is to create an environment that is safe, warm, and non judgemental.
